We were at the ES gathering in Milwaukee today. We had been there about an hour and had met all the dogs and had a grip on who they all were. Then all of a sudden there was a little tri female that Dan just LOVED. She was playing with all the other dogs and he kept asking where she came from. After asking about 6 people, he found his owner who told him he was an Emily/ Murphy! So cool that his favorite dog there was our grandpup and he didn't even know it. :)

Good job!

Hi Jacqui,

Finney continues to be incredible! She is absolutely the perfect dog although those infamous "teenage months" are beginning to surface! Just in the last few days she has begun to talk back to us when we give her even simple commands like sit and stay! Everywhere we go people comment on how beautiful she is and ask us what kind of dog she is.

She has completed two beginning agility classes and is just starting another. She will not be able to do full jumps though, until she is between 12-18 months old and her growth plates have fused. Even at this young age, she is the star of the class! Her focus is incredible and she is fast WITHOUT having that intense frenzy that many border collies have!

Hi Jacqui!

Just wanted to give you a quick update on Finney. She continues to be a WONDERFUL dog! She is just perfect for us! She has moved up to intermediate agility and is doing great. She has just begun to master the weave poles - maybe not master, but most of the time she will weave nicely through 6-12 poles!

She has her morning routine of going to the park to play with her friends. Each morning - 7 days/week if we are in town, rain, snow, sleep, hot or freezing - we meet up with between 5 and 10+ other dogs and their owners. Finney's favorite playmate is Bailey - a cattle dog mix. They love to wrestle .... and if there is any water or mud around, it becomes mud wrestling! She needs to be washed down almost daily! Thank goodness for the cold weather and snow - it is much cleaner!

She has FINALLY gotten over her car sickness. It took just over a year! She now willingly jumps into her crate!!!! That is good because this fall we bought a place in south central Wisconsin on the Fox River. We have been going up there at least twice a month and it is a 3 hour drive each way. She loves it.

We have also discovered lure-coursing. Another sport that Finney LOVES!!!! The course is just north of Kenosha, Wi - another hour or so drive away. The only side effect of this is that she now thinks that every squirrel is fair game! We are working hard to get her to discriminate between squirrels and the lure in lure coursing!
